BCPS Calendar Update

Bullitt County, KY — Bullitt County Public Schools has announced updates to the district’s academic calendar following approval from the BCPS Board of Education. Due to multiple disruptions caused by winter weather and illness, the district has adjusted the schedule to ensure the best instructional experience for students while accommodating necessary changes.

The following calendar adjustments have been approved:

  • March 10 – Now a regular school day (previously a Bullitt Day)

  • May 29 – Last day for students

  • May 30 – Now a Bullitt Day

  • June 2 – Closing day for staff

“This winter has been one of the most challenging in my tenure as Superintendent,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Jesse Bacon. “With multiple weather and illness-related disruptions, we carefully considered the best way to maintain instructional continuity for our students. After consulting with BCEA leadership, building principals, and district leadership, the feedback overwhelmingly supported this change.”

The district remains committed to making decisions that prioritize student learning and staff needs while adapting to unforeseen circumstances.
