TSA State

Students from Bullitt County Public Schools made a strong showing at the 2025 Kentucky Technology Student Association (TSA) State Conference, held at the Marriott Downtown, where the theme was "Tune Into Technology." The event brought together student leaders from across the Commonwealth to compete, collaborate, and showcase their skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Among the highlights: North Bullitt High School students participated in several high-level events, including a successful build of a functioning PVC kayak for the state-only competition. NBHS junior Angel Patel stood out, placing 2nd in the state in the Prepared Presentation category. She also launched an impressive campaign for Kentucky TSA State Vice President, finishing as the runner-up in a competitive race.

"Angel's campaign was thoughtful, engaging, and a testament to her leadership," said Angela Holland, TSA advisor and teacher at North Bullitt High School. "She represented BCPS with passion and integrity. It was a joy to watch her grow through this experience."

The TSA experience supports the BCPS mission to inspire and equip students to succeed in life, giving them real-world opportunities to lead, innovate, and apply their learning in meaningful ways. Students engaged in competitions that encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, and communication, which are all key components of the BCPS Graduate Profile.

“This is what student success looks like in action,” said Dr. Lee Barger, Director of College and Career Readiness & Innovation. “Our students aren’t just learning about STEM; they’re becoming innovative problem solvers, effective communicators, and self-directed navigators who are preparing to lead in a technical world.”

The Kentucky TSA is the only state-approved Career and Technical Student Organization aligned to engineering, IT, computer science, and related STEM programs of study. Events like this offer students a platform to deepen their learning and discover how their talents connect to future careers.

Congratulations to all BCPS participants for their creativity, commitment, and representation of our district!
