Our Industrial Maintenance students at the ATC have been testing their cardboard bridge constructions and the results are in! 🥇 First Place: Jesse, Phillip, and Cooper 🏋️ Heaviest Weight Held: Cid, Noah, Cameron -- 414.8 POUNDS! Throughout the year, Ms. Thompson will collaborate with the other 20 selected leaders to design district- and school-specific lessons, plan and execute workshops for teachers across the state, and more. Recently, Ms. Rucker and Ms. Ridley took over 30 students from BCHS and NBHS to attend the Educators Rising Conference at Asbury University! Educators Rising is a student organization that "cultivates a new generation of highly skilled educators by guiding young people on a path from high school through college and into their teaching careers." While at the conference, BCPS students were able to chat with current Asbury students about things they can expect both in college and in the teaching profession. #MovingForward #BCPSFutureFocused

Also last week, Bullitt East High School was invited to present at the Kentucky Board of Education to talk about their experience as a National Banner Unified Champion School (BEHS is one of only 3 in the state)! Students Olivia and Courtney alongside teacher and sponsor Mrs. Minton spoke about how Project UNIFY is just a "way of life" at BEHS and the many ways it helps *all* students feel valued and included. Also in attendance were proud BEHS Principal, Nate Fulghum, and other supportive students: Misti, Kaylynn, Reagan, and Cooper. The photos here tell a great story... Not only do you see our students and staff leading at the state level, you can also see our students chatting with State Board Members and our Interim Commissioner of Education like it's no big deal. Talk about confidence! #MovingForward #BCPSEmbraceDifferences #CollegeCareerTraditionUnrivaled
