BCPS EMT Program

The following is  a note from the Bullitt County EMS Training Staff;

I’m not entirely sure how many people need to be thanked for this program, but I’m including all of you, and hope you’ll share with anyone else involved.

Today, Sydney Key got her Paramedic license. She was part of the first high school EMT program.  From that class, we also got Abigail Ferrell, Ally McCaslin, Savannah Childress (who have all since gotten their Advanced EMT certifications), and Sommer Yaekle who is currently in school for her AEMT.  From the next year we got Blake Parman, Katelyn Skaggs, Kaden Whicker & KaTara Arnold, who are all positive additions to our staff, and while mostly part-time while continuing their education, have all but one been here more than a year.  We’ve had at least three others who have moved on to other things, as young people will.

 I just wanted you to know that the program is working very much as intended, and that we are seeing benefit from the investments that have been made in it.

 Thank you!  This is how we grow greatness.

We would also like to note that Miles Hggs took the NREMT Paramedic practical examination in December.

SYdney Key shown below has worked hard to be a paramedic (while going to EKU full time and working as an EMT part time) and passed the National test last week.  She starts riding with the medic today to get her precepting contacts (she's working 60 hours this week in hopes of getting the required 11 advanced life support contacts required to go solo).
