Bullitt County ATC EMT Students

The EMT class was visited today by Bullitt County Judge Executive, Jerry Summers and the Director of the Bullitt County EMS, Chris Hale. Judge Summers told the students how grateful he was for their commitment and, as with past cohorts, that they would be guaranteed a job with Bullitt County EMS on completion of their certifications. The students asked great questions and spoke of some of their experiences on their ambulance ride-a-longs.

Judge Summers awarded the group with Bullitt County EMS t-shirts on behalf of the Bullitt County Fiscal Court. The EMT partnership between the ATC, Jefferson Technical & Community College, Bullitt County Schools, Bullitt County Fiscal Court, and the Bullitt County EMS is the only high school dual credit cohort in the state of Kentucky. To date this program has already placed 9 graduates into the Bullitt County EMS helping to fill the need for more EMT's in our community.. The EMT program is a model of what can happen when the schools and local government work together to address the needs of the community.
