Welcome Back, BCPS!

Hey there, BCPS Families!

School starts on Tuesday, August 6th, and we are thrilled to welcome our students and families to the 2024-2025 school year. With class lists posted and back-to-school shopping in full swing, we are gearing up for another exciting year here in BCPS. Our foremost Core Value is that Our Students Matter Most. In this spirit, our dedicated staff across the district are eagerly preparing for the arrival of our students. From teachers ready with engaging lessons to custodial staff ensuring our buildings are pristine, every effort is being made to create exceptional educational experiences. Our aim is for every BCPS student to be equipped for success in life by the time they graduate.

This year, we are excited to continue emphasizing our Graduate Profile as the cornerstone of our educational objectives. Developed with input from our families, local business leaders, post-secondary partners, and more, this profile ensures that our students are not only knowledgeable but also adept in critical life skills. We focus on nurturing effective communication, problem-solving abilities, time management, a growth mindset, and community impact. A Bullitt County graduate stands out, equipped with a career certificate, core academic competencies, career success skills, and essential soft skills. Our graduates are prepared to seamlessly transition into the workforce or further their education without the need for remedial courses.

Beyond college and career readiness, our schools offer a rich array of benefits to our students, their families, and our community. We proudly provide robust programs in the arts and humanities, fostering creativity and cultural appreciation. Students in our district engage in discussions about literature, create art in various media, perform music, and participate in dramatic arts. These experiences are crucial in developing well-rounded individuals who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to society.

In addition to these enriching programs, we are pioneering a new approach to assessment and accountability with the launch of our Community Accountability Profile. This innovative system will highlight the diverse strengths and contributions of our district, moving beyond traditional metrics to provide a comprehensive view of our impact. We are planning community forums throughout the district to capture your feedback on the outcomes and experiences you want for your students. We encourage you to stay engaged throughout the year to follow the development of this important initiative.

BCPS is committed to being Future Focused and embracing Proactive Innovation, earning recognition as a leader in education both in our state and across the nation. Our dedication to Service Before Self drives us to deliver the highest level of customer service and community engagement. We are not merely a government entity; we are YOUR school system, dedicated to serving the community and preparing future generations for the challenges ahead.
