Nichols Knights Families,
I want to begin by thanking the PTA board and all of the staff and volunteers who helped us have a very successful Fall Festival last Saturday! There were several additions to this year’s festivities - Raffle Baskets, Silent Auction, and split the pot were all new this year. And we brought back the turkey dinner which was delicious! All of this contributed to a record amount of being money raised for Nichols! Thank you to everyone who contributed with time or money. We appreciate all of you.
Happy Veterans Day! We appreciate your service. We had a lovely Veterans Day assembly this morning. State Representative Russell Webber was in attendance and brought a new flag for Nichols. We were not able to begin our assembly out front with the raising of the flag though due to the rain this morning, but we hope to be able to fly our new flag soon. We also had a special guest speaker, United States Air Force, retired, Clinton Saul. Mr. Saul has tight connections in the Nichols community. He has spoken at numerous Veterans Day celebrations in the past. He even attended Nichols! Students and staff alike really enjoyed his stories and words of wisdom. Thank you both for helping make our celebration special. We ended the celebration by listening to a recording of the story, The Little White Table, and enjoying the slide show of Veterans from the Nichols staff and students. It was a beautiful celebration.

BCPS has a new district website this year, and every school also has a new website. There is a lot of great information and it’s easy to find. My favorite feature is the Event Calendar.
