Our pilot with Sherpa Labs begins today! If your student is absent, you should expect to receive a text message from Sherpa, a 24-7 Attendance Officer! This program will make it easier for you to ask questions, share information, or address concerns about your child’s attendance in real-time. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please reach out to us here at Nichols.

Join us on Thursday, March 27th for our Math and Technology Family Night! The event starts at 5pm and run until 6:30! Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Nichols is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Sherpa Labs aimed at improving communication with families about student attendance. We have been selected as a pilot school for this program and we are hoping to kick off later this week! Your students should be coming home today with a letter with more information!
Here’s what to expect from our partnership:
You will continue to receive an automated call notifying you if your child is marked absent.
However, instead of receiving an email and text notification from thrillshare as you may have in the past, you will now receive a personalized text directly from our 24-7 Attendance Officer. This approach will make it easier for you to ask questions, share information, or address concerns about your child’s attendance in real-time.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns please reach out to us here at Nichols.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Bradbury
Principal
Nichols Elementary School

Next week we will be celebrating Read Across America! Check out our daily activities with the attached flyer!

Happy Valentines Day, Nichols Knights! We hope your day is sweet!

Yesterday, we were lucky to have a special guest reader for both our 4th and 5th grade classes! Thank you for taking the time to visit us at Nichols, Dr. Usher!

Our lost and found is overflowing! Please encourage your students to stop by and look for items that may belong to them before they are donated. Thanks!

Not only is it National School Counseling week and Kindness Week, but it's also Family Resource and Youth Service Centers (FRYSC) Week! We have some amazing FRYSCs in BCPS, but we'd like to give a special shoutout to our very own, Megan Luckett! The Nichols center helps to provide food, clothing, school supplies, and much more to families in need of a little extra help. FRYSCs do whatever it takes to remove non cognitive barriers to success. With that little bit of extra help, all students can succeed at Nichols! Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Luckett!

Weather permitting, we're still celebrating Kindness Week! We'll have dress up days, daily challenges and fun activities thanks to Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Luckett!

Happy National School Counseling Week!
Every student deserves a school counselor to help with academic achievement strategies, managing emotions, applying interpersonal skills, and planning for postsecondary options. Nichols would not be the same without our own school counselor, Mrs. Clark! Thank you for all that you do for our students, families and staff!

Get ready, Knights! This upcoming Monday, February 3rd, we will celebrate our 100th day of school! Feel free to dress up in a couple of different ways! See the attached flyer for some more information.

Join us next week for Coffee with the Counselor and Coordinator!

It's time to order your 24/25 yearbook! Orders are due by February 21st. All orders are placed directly through Jostens. Click the link here and search Nichols Elementary, KY! Jostens.com/orderyrbk
