On Friday, PGE students and staff celebrated American Veterans for keeping this Nation the land of the free and the home of the brave. Every branch of the military was represented and honored during two different ceremonies. Third graders, June Wasinger and Rebekah Skaggs, kicked each of the programs off with a beautiful rendetion of the National Anthem and it was a very touching moment when 5th grader, Caiden Downs, played Taps after a moment of silence for all the service-members who lost their lives while defending our country.
Guest speakers Chief Warrant Officer Four, Rocky Whitely, U.S. Army, and Pat Fox, executive director of Active Heroes each delivered a heartfelt message to the students and Veterans. The ceremony concluded with a special song delivered by the students to our Veterans. Our Veteran guests then enjoyed a reception in the library and were able to take a picture with their student.
We are so proud of and so very thankful to our Veterans. This program was a small way to show our Gratitude.
