After a long day of competing at her Tae Kwon Do tournament (and winning 3 medals) Daniella started a new book on the porch swing. Way to go, Daniella, and keep reading!

Everyone has their favorite place to read. Check out Ellie's hammock. That looks like the perfect place to tune out the world and get lost in a book.

Our Bulldogs have started their summer reading with gusto! A cold icee and a book make for a perfect cat ride. Caden looks like she is a few chapters into her book already!

We love that so many students are starting their summer by reading! It's important to enjoy time off and get out and play, but for times when we are stuck inside or waiting somewhere, reading makes the perfect pastime to keep our mind engaged.
Reed chose to read while riding in the car. A great way to pass the time!

When you spend the first day of summer getting the oil changed in mom's car so you can drive to your big vacation, you are thankful for the books provided by your school.
Sometimes those waits can be long and boring. We are glad Emmalee and Austin remembered to bring their books along! Emmalee is reading 'The Kid in the Red Jacket' and Austin is starting 'Fighting Ground.'

Sofia absolutely loves to learn. Even while leaving for vacation she was eager to read. Here she can be seen practicing her reading while waiting for her flight at the airport!

Benjamin B. is starting out his first day of summer break by taking some time to read outside today. He was so excited to get his new books and get started!

Great big thank you to JHK Mart for donating ice cream to a grade level today. Our fifth graders were very surprised. We appreciate your partnership with LJES!

As the end of the school year rapidly approaches, the last day of our elementary transportation support through the YMCA will be next Friday, May 19th. After this date, the YMCA will no longer be able to accept students as a result of cancelled bus routes. We hope that this partnership has been a help to you and your family and we thank our friends at the YMCA for collaborating with us to support student attendance!
