Registration for the 2023-2024 school year has started! Future MWES kindergarten students came today to register!
All students, including current students, need to register for the 23-24 school year online! Yes, EVERYONE, must register!

The staff were trained to be prepared for KSA testing. They also spent time in grade level PLC's to work on building assessments, deconstructing standards and lesson planning for upcoming topics. Lots accomplished in a days work!

Our MWES family celebrated literacy in a big way. Author Leigh Anne Florence visited the students during the day and shared with families in the evening. Ms. Florence and her dogs Woody and Chloe inspired all us with a positive message on being a Winner! Much thanks to her crew, the Bullitt County Public Library, the Dream Bus, and a host of others who presented this event. This night was also used to recognize Gracie, Kayleigh and Laurelynn on having the most minutes read during the 28 day reading challenge. Congrats goes out to them!

Family Literacy Night is this Thursday at 5:30!

Do you have a child or know of a child starting kindergarten in the fall of 2023? March 13th starts registration for all new K students. See the image below for more information.

Last night we wrapped up our March Madness basketball with the 4th and 5th grade teams. What a great night! A huge thank you to Mr. Vibbert for organizing it!

The second and third graders continued March Madness with more basketball games tonight. The players worked hard and as a team. So much fun!

Know anyone entering Kindergarten for the 23-24 school year? Please share this information with them. Registration for next school year opens soon.

The kindergarten and first grade kicked off March Madness with the first round of class basketball games tonight. All players gave it their all and had so much fun. This tradition is a favorite we are happy to have back after a long break!!

The 5th grade students have been learning about the importance of protecting the brain and how it can be injured. They were given the task to create a helmet that would protect the brain, which was represented by the use of an egg. Once they dropped the protected egg they studied it one more time to assess any damage that might have occurred. What an enlightening STEM experience!

We appreciate all our counselor, Mrs. Franklin and our FRC, Mrs. Johnson do for us. Hope they felt loved this week as our students, staff and families recognized them all week. They are absolutely the BEST!

Today was the 100th day of school. Teachers and students used the day to celebrate by dressing up, counting to 100 in a variety of combinations and writing about what they might do at 100 years old. They all looked quite wonderful for their age!

The total count is not in, but the number of those who came to math night was exciting. Families enjoyed fluency, measurement, geometric shape games and more. These mathematicians earned a cake and water to celebrate their efforts. A great night was had by all!!

Hey Families! Join MWES for "Math is a piece of cake". Family Math Night is Thursday, January 19th from 5:30-7:00 PM
There will be door prizes and giveaways.

The staff enjoyed the opportunity to spend some time together. Lots of fun and laughs were had by all. Congratulations to some of our game winners. This group along with those unable to attend are a true gift to our MWES family!! We appreciate you!!

Thanks to city worker elves who helped deliver items that were donated from People’s Bank and the community for our school’s Family Resource Center. We appreciate your acts of kindness and generosity. Happy Holidays!!
