Good afternoon, this is a friendly reminder that BCPS is looking for families to respond about how they use Rooms, the new app/messaging service. We've had 25 ZMS families respond so far, let's improve that number!! If you've never used Rooms, that's okay too, be honest! Thank you.

There have been lots of questions about our Halloween Dance this Friday! It's right after school from 3-5. Students must purchase a $5 ticket to attend. Tickets can be purchased during lunch. Students who purchase a ticket can wear a costume. 🎃🕷️🕸️
ZMS families,
We've noticed an uptick in students not bringing their Chromebooks and chargers to school lately. Every student has been provided a device at the beginning of the school year. It is the expectation that students take home their device, charge them each night to be prepared for the next day. Many students are leaving their device or chargers at home, bringing dead devices without chargers, or they have no idea where their charger may be. This causes issues for instruction in classrooms if multiple students are unprepared. We do not have extra supplies available for this many students. Please check in with your student each day to make sure they are ready for learning! Any questions or repairs needed, contact Mrs. Voight. Thank you!
Let's go Timberwolves at the 6th grade tournament!
Good morning Timberwolf families! We have lots of events and extracurricular activities in full swing. Take a look at this month's newsletter and stay in the "zone" on all things ZMS! https://www.smore.com/45f9u
Kona ICE is coming!! Students must bring cash to participate. Kona Ice will donate portions of sales and will raise funds for future student activities.
Spirit Week/Red Ribbon week begins NEXT week. Students can dress up in these themes to show their support against drugs in our community. Join in on the fun!
Congrats to our ZMS 23-24 Boys' Basketball Team! Let's go Timberwolves!
In Mrs Voight's library media/technology classes, students have been learning about coding and computational thinking. Students worked together to "code" each other by telling them clear directions to draw a grid picture without showing them the images. Students applied the knowledge to an online coding course where students use code to solve puzzles.
PE classes completed their Tchoukball unit. It is played with a ball on an indoor court with a small elastic rebounder on each end. Teams score by bouncing the ball against the rebounder and getting it to bounce on the floor of the court without being intercepted by the defending team. These teams worked as productive collaborators to achieve the championship!
