Seventh grade students in Mrs. Thompson's Arts and Humanities classes have been learning about art of the Middle Ages. Using sidewalk chalk, students created their own version of an illuminated letter.

It's time to start gearing up for 8th grade end of year activities! Like previous years, Mrs Voight will create an 8th grade video for viewing during the promotion ceremony and make it publicly viewable after.

7th grade students in Mrs. Thompson's Arts & Humanities classes have learned about Gothic architecture and created their own stained glass "windows"!
Last week our band attended KMEA Large Group Assessment- which is the school band equivalent of spring testing! Our students performed extremely well according to Ms. Parsons and heard wonderful feedback from the judges. Way to go ZMS Band!
The past few weeks all students have had a chance to experience a genre book tasting in the library with Mrs. Voight. Students got a closer look at different types of books than they may normally pick to encourage a love of reading. Many students found new books to try!

While students have been off school these Bullitt Days, ZMS teachers have been working hard! They have been taking lesson materials and elevating them to increase rigor and engagement.
Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Walls' students working on problem solving and design this week and used the “RoundRobin” strategy. The students offered up different solutions each day on how to solve a specific “design problem.

Spring Picture day is coming!! Even though it will be on St. Patrick's Day, students should NOT wear a green shirt!! There are green screens for backgrounds and your students will look like floating heads if they wear green.
Mrs. Spratt's science classes modeled the chemical reactions of photosynthesis and cellular respiration with marshmallows! Added bonus, when they eat the marshmallows, their bodies undergo aerobic (cellular) respiration.
Students in Mrs. Roach's PE classes participated in different fitness stations including yoga, fitness videos and more!
