ZMS Families, due to continuing weather conditions, Thursday 2-20-25 will be BCPS NTI #6. We want to assure you that instruction and learning doesn't stop even though it's virtual! Here is some updated information on NTI procedures at ZMS. Teachers are available the entire school day for assistance, but we are now offering specific office hour Google Meets by content in the afternoon. Students, all links to Meets are found on Google Classroom. Thanks for your understanding in this challenging winter!

Ms. Cobble says Prit demonstrates Kindness " Prit always has a smile on his face and is willing to help. He is very kind to teachers and other students. Consistently demonstrates a strong willingness to assist his peers. His actions reflect his empathy and genuine concern for others." Way to go students!
Forgive the hiatus on shoutout posts, the past few weeks have been a bit unorthodox! Today we have two staff shoutouts: Ms. Sharp and Mrs. Spratt! We appreciate their hard work and dedication to ZMS. They are both great leaders of our PACK 🐺💚
Last week the North Bullitt HS band director and 17 high school band students visited the ZMS band! They tutored small groups on instruments and our band students gained valuable experience with them.
Heads up ZMS student athletes, some events have been changed due to NTI/weather!
* Girls' soccer practice has been moved to the FREEDOM ES GYM tonight 2-17 from 5-7pm
* Boys' soccer tryouts have been moved once again AND location change- ZMS GYM on 2/18 and 2/20 from 5-7
*Boys' Baseball tryouts still on 2/18 but changed to 7 pm.

February 15 is National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day!! We are so grateful for Officer Priddy and K9 Vader. They do amazing things for our students and Vader brings out a smile in everyone who sees him. (Shoutout to Carla Asbury for this amazing shot!)

We are super proud of our ZMS Archery team who competed in two tournaments recently! Here are some results and an important shoutout from other schools' coaches:
➼Bullseye team came in first place and won a trophy!
➼Tucker Butler came in 3rd place in overall Middle School Male Archer
➼ Jace Baker came in 6th place overall
➼Allie Johnson came in 5th place overall Middle School Female Archer
➼ 11 archers shot their career high scores
➼Ethan Purtilar came in 3rd place overall Middle School Male Archer
➼Max Willoughby came in 5th place
➼ Allie Johnson came in 5th place again overall Middle School Female Archer.
A note from Coach Stewart: "compliments that I received from two other school coaches from the second tournament. The coaches really appreciated how our archers stepped in and helped the younger archers from the other schools in scoring and making them feel part of the tournament. The coaches really appreciated the sportsmanship and the courtesy that our archers showed towards other archers. This made me very proud as a coach that our student-athletes represented our school, our team and themselves in a professional manner. "

Next week we are celebrating National Month of Kindness! Students are off Monday, but Tuesday-Friday there are different dress themes. Join us in celebrating Kindness, one of our PACK values we live out every day at ZMS.

North Middle soccer season is almost here! ZMS and HMS are combining players for our boys' and girls' teams. Tryout dates are on the photos below, must have a sports physical on file. Practice field is located between Freedom and North Bullitt as circled on the map.

This week we have TWO home games for our ZMS girls' volleyball. Come out and support our ladies! Let's Go Timberwolves!! $5 at the door.
This semester during 5th period enrichment time, each grade level gets brain break time with clubs! Students will rotate between art club, choir club, sports club, board game club and Canva club. This provides students community building in an engaging environment.
Any 8th grader wanting to try out for North Bullitt Baseball, tryout dates are soon! You must bring a copy of your sports physical or you cannot try out!
This week's Positive Praise Student Shoutout is Kinsley Stafford! Mrs. Lewis says "Kinsley continues to be courageous in self-reflection and challenges herself to use strategies to face obstacles in a social and academic setting. " Way to go Kinsley!
