
PACK student of the week is Abby Montgomery! Mrs. Thompson says "Abby is a model student. She participates actively in class, asking and answering questions. She puts forth effort in completing her work and strives to be the best she can be. Abby takes accountability for her learning and is a leader in Zoneton's pack." Way to go Abby!


Our Youth Services Coordinator Ashley Eskridge and the BCPL are teaming together to provide a North End Caregiver support group. This is geared towards grandparents ( or other relatives) raising children in the area. Please RSVP, more details below.

To kick off Red Ribbon Week, we were honored to hear from Josh Smith from Steered Straight. He shared his heartbreaking story of home life tragedy, bad choices, prison experience and then how he turned his life around through hard work and determination. He touched our students' hearts and inspired them to pledge to stop vaping and live drug free. He shared facts, statistics, and solutions for staying healthy and productive. It was an incredible experience for our students. Have a conversation with you student about this! Thank you Mr. Smith and to Mrs Eskridge for coordinating this event.

North Bullitt's JROTC came to ZMS yesterday to speak with our 8th graders on the opportunities available at North. The drill team also performed. Thank you to JROTC for visiting our Timberwolves!

We are hosting an assembly and a light reception in the library following the assembly for ZMS students' family members who served or are serving our nation. We have a guest speaker who is an Air Force Veteran coming to our assembly, which will begin at 12:45 pm on November 11. ZMS Veteran families are invited to attend.

Starting a new weekly post: PACK Student Positive Praise! These students are recognized by staffulty for standing out in either Pride, Accountability Courage or Kindness. This week Mrs. Voight says this about Parker's Courage: "Parker has shown courage by stepping up in leadership over the morning broadcast, being the “showrunner” and fill-in for any student host" Way to go Parker!

The Halloween Dance is in one week on October 30 3-5pm (reminder no school on 10/31 and 11/1)

8th grade: Drinks
Students can bring their donations to their advisory class.

Red Ribbon Week /School Safety Week is coming up soon! RRW is the nation's largest drug awareness program for students. The week of Oct 28, there are different dress themes and an inspiring program assembly planned. ** Don't forget due to early voting, there is NO SCHOOL on Oct 31, Nov 1, 4 and 5. **



Yesterday we held our quarter 1 "Howl Fest"- a pep rally celebrating our students' efforts during the first nine weeks! Students competed in grade level games, spirit stick competition, and students/staffulty were chosen for PACK awards. And introducing our mascot costume, name TBD! (Can anyone guess the staffulty member inside??) It was a great day at ZMS!






Any current 6th or 7th grade family interested in their student attending an EF Tour trip to Italy in summer 2026, there will be an informational meeting on October 24 in the ZMS Cafeteria.
