
Students were engaged in stations in Ms. Starks and Mr. Boston's Language arts class this week.


Students in science classes were engaged in stations, experiments, and hands-on instruction this week!


Mrs. Perugini's 8th grade students in writing classes worked together on sources for argumentative writing. They analyzed articles, charts, and videos to answer the prompt "Are professional athletes paid too much?". Students will use evidence from the text to write their pieces.



Congrats to these students who made the ZMS Baseball team. Go Timberwolves!!! ⚾🐺


Today is National Random Act of Kindness Day! Show some kindness to others around you. It makes the world a better place. :)


No School for students tomorrow (Fri) for Bullitt Day (teacher work day) or Monday! Enjoy the long weekend and stay safe!


Last week, while Ms. Parsons was out at a conference, she assigned student leaders to lead her bellringer and her class!


6th grade students completed a book spine poetry challenge in the library! Student groups worked together to put together a "poem" using the titles of books in the library. There were some creative poems!





There's been a few new faces around ZMS the past few weeks. We wanted to officially welcome Mr. Hamer and Mr. Smith to the PACK!



Students in Mrs. Spratt's 7th grade science classes are learning about endothermic and exothermic chemical reactions to determine the best design for a portable reptile egg incubator.




This week continues our kindness week. For Valentine's Day we want our students to focus spreading kindness to everyone around them. These students were chosen as winners for our random acts of kindness challenge! Happy Valentine's Day, ZMS family! ❤️💖



Mrs. Starks and Mr. Boston co-taught in stations for 7th grade language arts. Students worked to understand how to write an effective argumentative claim, complete a group writing prompt, work on a paragraph puzzle and more for their argument writing unit. Mrs. Voight also hosted a station and worked with small groups on finding library books to meet student interests.

Celebrating our wonderful cafeteria staff! They come in early and serve breakfast and lunch. Encourage your student to say something kind to our cafe staff during kindness week.

Next week is ZMS Kindness Week! Each day has a dress theme and a kindness challenge. Let's spread #zonetonstrong character qualities and encourage one another. :)


Did you know the ZMS Library hosts monthly reading challenges? Students can complete optional tic-tac-toe choice boards with activities such as reading outside, reading to a younger family member, reading an ebook online, making their own book cover, and so much more. Students who complete at least 3 activities receive a button and a prize! (The mustache stickers were popular this time for the Dec/Jan challenge)


Students in Mrs. Jaggers' 6th grade language arts classes collaborated to create objective summaries on short stories they've read.
